Most of the population lives in central and northern half of the island, leaving the less populated south. The 42 beaches along the beach, each has its own style, elegant revelers hit the international Jurerê crashing waves for surfers at Praia Mole. Barra da Lagoa is the “rabbit trail” celebrates the home of world surfing champion Jacqueline Silva calls. The island is connected to the mainland by two picturesque bridges. A suspension bridge over Puente Hercilio Luz, is closed for the circulation, but still defines the skyline at night when lit up.All 42 of the island’s beaches are within an hour.
